OUR COACHING STAFF

Sarina Flores has served as the Vista Murrieta High School Dance Team and Dance Crew Director and Head Coach since 2019. Under her leadership, the program has grown into one of the most competitive dance teams in the nation, earning six National Championship titles at USA Nationals since 2022.

Prior to joining Vista Murrieta, Sarina spent nine years teaching dance and physical education at the middle school level and fifteen years teaching elementary school. She also taught and choreographed all levels and styles for company dancers at Temecula Dance Company for more than fifteen years. Her choreography and teams earned numerous regional and national awards, including multiple national titles.

In addition, Sarina worked with the United Spirit Association (USA) for over fifteen years. During that time, she taught summer camps for junior high and high school dance teams, choreographed award-winning routines, judged regional and national competitions, served as a Head Camp Instructor, and worked as a Competition Director.

Passionate about dance education and student development, Sarina is committed to building a high-quality program that fosters excellence, leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. Her goal is to create opportunities for students to succeed both on and off the performance floor while maintaining a tradition of competitive excellence.

Kaylin Flores is a proud alumni of VMHS, where she was a member and Captain of the VMHS Dance Team all 4 years. She trained and competed at a Temecula Dance Company in all genres from ages 4–18, where she won numerous awards and titles. She then continued her dance career at San Diego State University as a member of the SDSU Dance Team for all 4 years, helping the team win SDSU’s first national championship In 2020. 

Kaylin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology: Pre-Physical Therapy in 2021, and later her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from San Diego State University (2025). She now works as a pediatric physical therapist. 

Kaylin has been an assistant coach for the VMHS Dance Team for about 6 years, where she choreographs JV award-winning  national routines, works with Varsity on their Florida nationals routines and leads technique and strength and conditioning, while using her PT background to help dancers understand their bodies, move efficiently, and reduce risk of injury.

Kaylin is excited for another year working alongside the VMHS dancers! 

Colie Heise is an alumni of Vista Murrieta High School. This will be her 3rd year coaching the VMHS Dance Team. She is excited to retrn to the team that helped shape her both as a dancer and a person.

 Colie is beginning her senior year at Cal State San Marcos, where she is working toward her Bachelor's Degree in Child and Adolescent Deveopment. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in education and become a teacher. She has always been passionate about working with young people with diverse backgrounds, and she loves having the opportunity to mentor and support student-athletes both in and out of our dance studio.

 Colie has spent much of her life as a  competitive dancer. She grew up training and competing at both Just Plain Dancin' and Murrieta Dance Project. She also had the privilege of being a member of the Vista Murrieta Varsity Dance Team for 4 years, where she developed leadership skills and unforgettable memories. She has continued her dance journey Into college, as a member of the Cal State San Marcos Dance Team, where she continues to grow both as a performer and teammate.

As a coach, Colie strives to create a positive, encouraging, and hardworking environment where every dancer feels supported to reach their full potential. Colie assists with both the JV and Varsity teams In rehearsals and also teaches Leaps/Turns/Tricks technique classes.

Ausey has been dancing competitively since middle school and specializes in Hop Hop. She is a VMHS alumni and was a Captain for 2 of 4 of her years on Dance Crew. She is now a Hip Hop Coach for the VMHS Dance program and has loved being able to help create a space for students to train and perform at a higher level while creating community among their peers. 

Ausey also dances professionally and when not choreographing or teaching you can find her on the Los Angeles Clippers Court with Clippers Spirit! She’s just finished her Rookie year at The Intuit Dome where she performed at over 25 Los Angeles Clippers games including a halftime performance with Ludacris! 

Aside from dance Ausey also has a passion for coffee, reading and serving at her church. She’s super stoked to be on the VMHS Dance Program Coaching Staff, Go Broncos !

Skylar Yeung, originally from Chicago, IL, began dancing at the age of three and quickly discovered her passion for the art. By the age of ten, she started competing, showcasing her talent and dedication. At thirteen, she made the bold move to Southern California, where she began her training at Murrieta Dance Project. There, she honed her skills in various dance styles, enhancing her technique through rigorous studio training and participation in conventions. At MDP, Skylar's role as an assistant ignited her passion for teaching, educating, and inspiring dancers of all ages.

After high school, Skylar pursued her love for dance at UC Santa Barbara, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Educational Studies. In college, she absolutely loved being able to continue performing in front of large audiences as she did before. During her four years at UCSB, she was an integral member of the UCSB Dance Team, balancing the demands of being a dance major while competing annually at UDA nationals in Orlando, FL. Skylar’s creativity flourished as she choreographed concert pieces for the UCSB dance shows and competition routines for the dance team.

Post college, Skylar embarked on her professional career as a cheerleader for the LA Rams. She completed two years as a Rams Cheerleader, being majorly involved in the Los Angeles community and dancing at every home game under the bright lights of Sofi Stadium. As she continues to make strides in the professional dance world, she remains committed to fulfilling her dreams of becoming a renowned dancer and instructor.
